Thanks for asking that question.
Only ...Hello....

Thanks for asking that question.

Only an uncaused being can be perfect. This is a central tenet to God's perfection. This also implies that perfection cannot be created for God cannot create HIMSELF. It is ontologically untenable.

However, God has paved a way for us to attain perfection when believers are resurrected because of their belief in Christ (cf. 1 Corinthians 15: 35-58).

Once again, the perfection that our resurrected bodies would attain would not make us co-equal with God. This could be for one simple reason - that God is uncaused whereas we were all caused. But God bestows perfection upon the resurrected believers since they are to coexist with HIM unto eternity.

Please respond for further clarity. I did note your comment about Satan bei...Dear ....

I did note your comment about Satan being the cause for the first sin, but I am still unsure as to what your question is. So kindly clarify / paraphrase your question. Thanks.

The resurrected believers would have a perfect state of being in heaven. This is the most important aspect of our impending heavenly dwelling unto eternity.

Adam and Eve weren't created as perfect beings, hence they had the propensity to sin.

Although the angels are spiritual beings (vis a viz our earthly existence, which is physical), they weren't created perfect, hence they too had the propensity to reject God.

Hence, its not just about the 'Beatific vision,' but its also about perfection.

Beatific vision, if I may add, is a final revelation of God in which the immortal believers would see God in a direct and a complete manner. I say this, since God did not reveal HIMSELF in this manner to Adam and Eve.

You may now ask whether angels have the beatific vision. I do not think so, for if they had, they would not have rejected God.

Thanks again for reading my blog and taking time to share your valuable thoughts.

Please respond for further clarity.

Remain blessed. In your response yo...Thank you for your response.

In your response you didn't address the first part of my comment about satan being the factor in eve consuming the fruit because of satan.

Now coming to an another doubt which came to me from your previous comment was "
We would have freewill in heaven and at the same time we would have the 'Beatific Vision' - seeing God face to face", if seeing God face to face leads to 'Beatific Vision' then didnt adam and eve have the same vision since they saw God face to face each day. Also didnt the fallen angels (devil) have it since they saw God face to face?
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-237936242445786797.post-36388387332247141672015-02-10T10:53:10.206+05:302015-02-10T10:53:10.206+05:30Dear...
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
The dy...Dear...

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

The dynamics of earthly life and heavenly life are totally different.

In our earthly life, we are imperfect. Whereas in our heavenly life, we would be perfect (1 Corinthians 13: 9-12; cf. 1 John 3: 2).

Perfection entails perfect knowledge of God, which in turn would make sin impossible.

We would have freewill in heaven and at the same time we would have the 'Beatific Vision' - seeing God face to face. When we have beatific vision, we would not sin against God. Seeing absolute beauty will prevent one's longing for anything ugly, namely sin.

Moreover, heaven is a place of perpetual worship, so our lives would be consumed in worshiping God, whom we would see face to face.

So we would not lose our freewill in heaven, but due to our perfection, we would lose our propensity to sin against God in heaven.

Please respond in case you need further clarity.

Remain blessed
Raj Richardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11043347477044729583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-237936242445786797.post-32576378789184776712015-02-09T20:58:23.051+05:302015-02-09T20:58:23.051+05:30Hey,
First of all to clarify, i am a christian an...Hey,

First of all to clarify, i am a christian and i believe in God and in His existence.

After reading your blog post, I felt that there is flaw in your reasoning especially when it comes to the statement "Could God have created a world with freewill and without Satan? A world with freewill will entail evil and a world with evil will posit a source, namely Satan. Even if angelic beings were not created, and as long as freewill exists, evil would exist." and also the over all reasoning.

One of the first things that came to my mind was the first sin. The reason why Eve ate the fruit of the forbidden tree was because Satan manipulated her thinking. She and Adam did have free will even before they ate the fruit and they were happy so the only variable that changed was Satan coming in the picture. It is because of the first sin, every being who is born is sinful in nature.

Secondly after the second coming of Christ and when the devil is crushed, it is promised that there will be a world free from evil and suffering. So does that mean there will not be free will in eternity? If there isn't, wouldn't that be same as what you mentioned "A world without freedom would be a world full of puppets or robots albeit in the form of human beings, which in essence is not a good world at all." But then how can God master plan a world which isn't good?

I don't really have any answers as to why there is Satan. But I do feel that when we are reasoning something, it should be sound.

So I would love to hear your thoughts on what I pointed out.

Also taking about eternity which is a world with no sin which is due to the absence of free will doesn't then your statement of " Therefore, a world without freewill and Satan would any day be a terrible world to live in than a world with freewill and Satan."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
